The text is compiled from purāṇic sources such as the Liṅgapurāṇa, Matsyapurāṇa, Kūrmapurāṇa, Brahmāṇḍapurāṇa, Skandapurāṇa (especially its Kāśīkhaṇḍa), Garuḍapurāṇa, and others.
