Summary:
A treatise on Advaita (non-dualism) Vedānta philosophy attributed to the ancient sage Vālmīki but composed by an unknown medieval author. Framed within the mythological world of the epic Rāmāyaṇa, the text is presented as a dialogue between the sage Vāsiṣṭha and the epic hero Rāma. Addresses the concept of dissolution (upaśama). It names itself after an earlier Kashmiri work, Mokṣopāya, but is a conflated, version of the Yogavāsiṣṭha. A commentary by Ānandabodhendra Sarasvatī, the Vāsiṣṭhamahārāmāyaṇatātparyaprakāśa, runs horizontally above and below the root text.
