Persian account of the first ruler of the Timurid dynasty, also known by the title Ẓafarnāmah. Marginal inscription above the illuminated headpiece is the opening of the basmalah.

Collation: Paper, ii + 134 + i leaves; no foliation or visible sewing. Catch phrase on each leaf, lower left verso.
Layout: Written in 2 columns of 14 lines.
Decoration: Illuminated headpiece (f. 1v); headings in red ink decorated with gold and blue; borders of written area outlined in blue, gold, and red throughout.
Binding: Red leather, gilt-tooled (Type III); earlier covers on repaired binding.
Origin: Completed 20 Ramadan 989 (18 October 1581, colophon, f. 134r).
Numerous repairs to leaf edges and holes in margins.
