French mathematician, astronomer, and geographer who studied at the Jesuit college in Chambéry before becoming a professor of mathematics; later in life he emigrated to the United States and mapped the Upper Mississippi River basin.

Treatise on conical sections divided into 3 chapters (numbered first, second, and fourth) on ellipses, hyperbolas, and parabolas, based on the teaching of George-Marie Raymond, who was the chair of mathematics at the École normale de Chambéry.
