- Manuscript used for public or private recitation and prayer or study, praising the deeds of the Hindu mythological figure Dhaumya, a legendary sage and poet, who instructs his beleaguered pupil Upamanya. Dhaumya sends his student, who is possessed of a great hunger for food, on a number of tasks in the form of observances to help him over come his desires.
