Single wooden cover with lacquer coating bearing a painting of the Hindu deity Gaṇeśa flanked on the left and right by two female attendants in the act of worshiping the god. Red wash serves as the background with a green floral border. Paper is European with several different watermarks, some bearing a crest, possibly representing a stylized letter "B" resting on a pedestal and above which is a crown; another bears the date of 1839, establishing the terminus post quem of the manuscript.
