Summary:
Manuscript is used as a kind of manual or handbook for consultation by a priest or household member (especially women) wanting to perform the rites, ceremonies, observances (vratas), and worship (pūjā) associated with this rite fasting. Usually performed on Tuesdays at the break of dawn for a variety of personal benefits and is usually held during the month of Śrāvaṇa (July/August). Contains numerous prayers and mantras to be recited.
