Summary:
Observance (vrata), rites, and worship of the elephant-headed, Hindu deity Gaṇeśa, called Vināyaka, a form of the deity popular especially in Maharashtra, to celebrate his birthday. The rites are to be performed on the 14th day in the bright half of the month of Bhādra (August-September). Especially focused on the rituals used when inviting the deity into your home. Presented as a dialogue between the legendary king Yudhiṣṭhira and the sage Vyāsa.
