Summary:

The first part, Baṭṭīśīvratakathā, defines 32 observances (vrata) for worshiping various gods, especially the Hindu deity Śiva in his form as Tryaṃbaka (the Three-eyed one), but also Gaṇeśa. Includes rites for sipping water, drinking mild, offering sandalwood and various flowers. The second part, Udyāpana, delineates the completion of the observances.
