Census figures issued by the Secretaria del Gobierno del Estado de Chiapas, for the state of Chiapas as a whole and its departments, mostly cut from a 1862 issue of the Chiapas government publication El espíritu del siglo; the figures for two departments, Comitan and Simojovel, are handwritten and the printed figures are annotated by C. Hermann Berendt, including data from 1868.
