The commentary's progression through an introduction and the treatises comprising most of the Logic (Categoriae, De interpretatione, De priore resolutione, and De posteriori analysi) is interrupted by a consideration of the Isagoge of Porphyry, an introduction to the Categoriae, which is inserted before that treatise.
Foliation: Paper, 322; [xxiii]; 1-39, [i], 40-165, 167-176, 178-271, 273-298, [iii]; contemporary foliation in ink, upper right recto, modern foliation in pencil, lower right recto. Printed pamphlet has separate pagination, p. [1-2], 3-29, [30-32].
Script: Written in a cursive script by Joannes Hirningerus Riedlingensi, whose autograph appears on f. i recto and whose name appears on the title page as the selector of the excerpts (f. xxiii recto). Also includes numerous contemporary marginal notes.
Decoration: Full page miniature showing an elaborately robed man with notes in front of him lecturing to two smaller figures, both with open codices, one with pen and ink; colors include green, blue, purple, brown, gray, red, pink, and gold (f. 61r). Another full page miniature shows a chart of terms consisting of opposites, perhaps associated with Socrates and Plato, on the branches of a tree with a robed man at the top; colors include green, blue, gold, brown, gray, pink, red, and yellow (f. 105r).
Watermark: Small crowned creature on a shield (also appearing in Ms. Codex 837).
Binding: Contemporary stamped pigskin.
Origin: Written in Ingolstadt, Germany, in 1608 (f. xxiii recto).
