The date 1650 inside upper cover appears to refer to a printing of Tyrocinium chymicum.
Foliation: Paper, 229; 1-25, 27-99, 102-153, 156-233, 235, contemporary foliation in ink, upper right recto; [1-229], modern foliation in pencil, lower right recto. Folios 26, 154-155 appear to have been torn out; there are a few blank folios between sections. First and last gatherings are detached; inside upper corner of last 6 leaves torn away with some loss of text.
Script: Written in a cursive script, primarily by one hand.
Decoration: Red ink used for underlining and cross references.
Binding: Contemporary calf, gilt spine with letter 'A' in second compartment. Hinges are fragile, particularly the upper hinge.
Origin: Possibly written in Germany, 1650-1750.
Two contemporary leaves are laid into the text; several printed items are tipped onto inside upper cover and one leaf of text.
