Subjects:
Padua (Italy) -- History.
Form/Genre:
Codices.
Chronicles.

Manuscripts, European.
Language:
Italian.
Summary:
History of Padua in the 14th and early 15th centuries. Apparently condensed from a larger version (cf. Muratori, Rerum italicarum scriptores, v. XVII).
Notes:
Ms. codex.
Title from Zacour-Hirsch. Title on spine: Cronica di Andrea Gataro Padovano.
Foliation: Paper, i (contemporary paper) + 128 + i (contemporary paper); [i], 1-121, [vi]; contemporary foliation in ink, upper right recto. Last 6 folios are blank and uncut.
Script: Written in a cursive script by a single hand.
Binding: Contemporary boards.
Origin: Written in Italy after 1614 (date of earlier manuscript of this text, colophon, f. 121r).
Bottom of f. 121 cut out. This is probably one of several copies (cf. Bibl. Marciana, Ms. Ital. VI, f. 246-248), which copied the explicit of the prototype: Taken from a copy lent by Count Giovanni de Zagasa and copied by Daniele delli Vitiliani...1614....The cut-out following this explicit suggests that further information on the preparation of this copy was removed, presumably to make it appear as if this were the copy of Daniele.
