Comprises two bound volumes containing various sized corner-mounted black-and-white photographs of British soldiers in India and Pakistan belonging to the Green Howards, Alexandra Princess of Wales's Own Yorkshire Regiment, 19th Regiment of Foot during World War II.

Comprises two bound volumes containing various sized corner-mounted black-and-white photographs of British soldiers in India and Pakistan belonging to the Green Howards, Alexandra Princess of Wales's Own Yorkshire Regiment, 19th Regiment of Foot during World War II. The oblong volumes both have the place and year written on the inside front cover. Volume 1 contains 412 images entitled "India 1941-42-43." Volume 2 is a small album entitled "Razmak 1942-43, N. W. F." (North-West Frontier) containing 70 images. Very few of the photographs have captions. One photograph of a group of uniformed soldiers appears in both volumes. In Volume 2 the photograph has the caption "Pioneer Platoon." Some snapshots in the first album have first names of British soldiers written in ink on the borders. The photographs in Volume 1 are chiefly of India with some picture postcards of Africa. There are pictures of soldiers, landscapes, streetscapes, landmarks, temples, native peoples, market places, and villages. Some of the snapshots are of signage denoting location, for example the sign "Kitchener Barracks." Images of encampments, social gatherings, playing soccer, and marching troops convey aspects of the soldiers' daily lives while stationed in India and traveling through their surroundings. At the end of Volume 1 are two leaves laid in from The Howards' Gazette. Volume 2 appears to span the winter months of 1942-1943 in Razmak, Pakistan. This small oblong album depicts snow-covered encampments, soldiers winding down passes in formation on foot and horseback, local peoples, and landscapes. There are two photographic postcards that capture the hanging of Bacha Saquo and his party by King Nadir Kahn at Kabul.
