Overview and metadata sections

This photograph album appears to have been kept by a British soldier in India during 1918. The book comprises forty-five black-and-white photographs measuring 5 1/4 x 3 inches with captions in white ink. The images are chiefly of Nāsik, India with a few landscape images of Bombay and Deolali, India. These snapshots capture the Officers' Convalescent Hospital and grounds in Nāsik, India. There are some images of nurses, who are most likely part of the World War I Australian Army Nursing Service. The images of Nāsik include local peoples, landscapes, streets, temples, and statues. There are pictures labeled "The Caves" and one image of cave guides. These are the Pandavleni caves, a holy Buddhist site about five miles south of Nāsik. There is one image of a soldier. The album is lacking the front cover and there are three images missing from places with captions.
