This volume with marble paper covers comprises the household inventory of William Coote, St. Ives, Huntingdonshire, England. The inventory for appraisal was compiled by Thomas Cockett and W. T. Nash in 1826. Coote was a corn merchant probably born in 1795. The inventory of the main house is arranged by room including bedrooms, cellar, dining room, drawing room, kitchens, nurseries, passages, and scullery. Each aspect and item of the room has been recorded in detail, including the fixtures, furniture, linens, ornaments, objects, pictures, rugs and window treatments. Out buildings and their contents such as counting houses, stables, granaries, wool chamber, and yard were listed separately. There are additional inventories for books in bookcases, glass closet, plate, and wine. The book inventory numbers sixty-three titles listing a brief title, author, and number of volumes. The works in the library include biographies, cooking, history, and reference. The inventory is signed by Thomas Cockett and W. T. Nash with a valuation of £726.8.3. Some valuation notations in pencil in the left margins. On the last page is a seal: one pound and a stamp: 2 shillings pr. quire.
