Dr. Marilyn Stringer was a Professor in Women’s Health Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Northwestern State University, her Master’s Degree in perinatal clinical nursing, Post-Master’s Degree in women’s health nursing, and her Doctoral Degree in nursing science at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Stringer worked in all types of clinical environments from home care to tertiary care settings. In her role as a Women’s Health Nursing-Clinician Educator, Dr. Stringer advanced the missions of both the School of Nursing and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania through the unique integration of teaching, practice, and scholarship.

This collection consists primarily of papers which Marilyn Stringer prepared and received from committees, conferences, workshops, and other professional activities. It also contains correspondence, certificates, photographs, and printed materails. In addition the collection contains information on Marilyn Stringer's projects abroad in Thailand and Botswana.
