Mary McMoneagle graduated from the Frankford Hospital Training School for Nurses in Frankford, PA, in 1913. She worked at the Pennsylvania State Sanatorium for Tuberculosis No. 3 in Hamburg, PA, from November 4, 1914 until December 8, 1919. After temporarily nursing at the Frankford Arsenal for four months in 1920, she received a registered nurse license in New York state in 1921. Her work situation after that time is unknown, but her records show her resignation from the Philadelphia Department of Public Welfare April 14, 1937.
This small collection is primarily composed of McMoneagle's correspondence and photographs. Her correspondence mainly concerns career milestones such as resignations. The letters and postcards are accompanied by two news clippings and a few handwritten notes on medication dosages. The photographs depict her fellow students at the Franford Hospital, along with staff and patients at the Hamburg Sanatorium. There is also a folder of personal, off-duty photographs of McMoneagle.

Handwritten recipes, notes and poems also contained between pages. Annotated.

This folder contains eight portraits of Mary as a child and as a young woman. It also includes three tintypes depicting a group of women.
This folder contains nine small photographs (less than 5x7 inches): eight photographs of groups of nurses, all outdoors, and one photograph of Ward F, Hamburg Sanatorium, at Christmas. There are also eight large photographs of McMoneagle and others at the Frankford Hospital Training School for Nurses and at Hamburg Sanatorium.
