Founded with a bequest from the estate of Robert Blair Edlow, Ph.D., Philosophy, 1972, the fund was established to acquire materials on gay literature, poetry, and life.

As interest in and the study of gay and lesbian literature has grown, the Penn Library has been increasingly pressed to provide resources for students and faculty. Because of the generosity and foresight of Tom Farinholt and Kenneth Edlow, the Library is able to continue to add gay and lesbian related materials to Penn's Collections--through the addition of primary resources and general literature.

Funds like this one allow the Library to collect material important to the work of our students and faculty. We are grateful that Mr. Farinholt and Mr. Edlow chose the Library as a place to show their support for Penn.
